The Mr Oil County Masters Road Races were hosted on Friday night last by SBR in Ferns with the Ladies 4Km race first off at 7.30 over the Stump Lane course.  Slaney Olympic’s Catherine Roche had a magnificent sprint finish against Kilmore’s Helen Doyle but the Kilmore athlete finished stronger to take silver medal and Catherine was awarded the bronze medal and also led the Slaney Team home to win a Silver Team medal together with Katey Gregan and Angie Redmond.  Annis Kehoe won gold in the 0/60 category 

The Mens 6km race started directly after the ladies race and Slaney had a strong team but unfortunately weren’t in the running for the medals.   First home for Slaney was Conail Cooper in 21.22 and Jim Stafford came away with gold for the 0/55 category.
