The Still 5 Miles Summer League Race kindly sponsored by Donohoe’s Skoda was held last night to a record breaking crowd of 95 runners starting the race.  Unlike previous years there was no sunshine but the temperatures were hot and humid making running conditions challenging over the hilly course.  First man home after a hard fought battle was United Striders John McGrath in 27.55 just ahead of Farmer Monaghan in 27.56.  First lady home was Emily O Connor in 34.34 and first Slaney lady home was Mary Gorham in 35.31.  Spot prize winners were John O Connor and Eric Derr.

A presentation was also made on the night to Joe and Kay O Regan in recognition for running the Cork City Marathon to celebrate their 80th birthday.
