The County Masters Road Races were held yesterday evening in a warm sunny Crossabeg hosted by local club St Killians. The Ladies 4Km race was first off at 7.00 and Slaney had 11 members taking part. First home for the club and second lady was Emily Waldron O Connor who secured an individual Silver medal and lead the team home to claim Team Bronze with Vanessa McShane and Louise Nolan Ryan. Jane Porter won 0/65 category and Club President Annis Kehoe won the 0 /60 category.
Immediately after the Ladies race, the men 6K race started and Slaney had 11 members again taking part. First home for the club was Mick Jordan in 10th place which secured the 0/45 category.
Well done to everyone who took part and to all the supporters for coming down and cheering the club on. Next race is the Senior Road Race hosted by Wexford Marathon Club in June.
