Congratulations to Martina O’Sullivan who won Siver in the Ladies Novice Road Race, to John Roban who also won Silver in the mens race and to John Foley who won Bronze. Eleven Slaney women ran in the record breaking field of 33 runners ran in the race. Our first team ( Martina O’Sullivan, Mag Dunphy and Sabina Sweeney) took gold. We had two other full teams which finished in 4th and 6th positions out of a total of 10 teams.

In the mens race we had 16 runners out of a total of 41. Our first team (John Roban, John Foley, Fergal McCauley and Niall O’Connor) took gold with our second team (Bobby Redmond, Billy Reck, Paul Browne and Neil Hudson) won silver. The finish of the day was between Billy and Paul with Billy shading it by a whisker. Our other two teams finished 4th and 6th.
