Well done to our six ladies and four men who represented Slaney Olympic and County Wexford in the Leinster Intermediate Cross Country in Adamstown today. In the ladies race Catherine Murphy started off conservatively but ran a great race finishing in eight position overall in a competitive field. Siobhan O’Shea gave her all over the 4,000 metre course to finish 38th. Well done too to Mag Dunphy, Sabina Sweeney, Ciara Kearney and Helena Browne for running well and representing their club.
In the men’s race Kevin Murphy lead the way for Slaney Olympic finishing in seventh place. Farmer came in in 31st position. Kevin and Farmer were scoring members of the County Wexford team who finished in bronze medal position. There were good solid performances too from Mick Jordan (48th) and Niall O’Connor (57th). Well done lads on coming out and representing the club.
Congratulations to Adamstown for hosting such an excellent event and to all the Wexford runners on their performances. Go to the Gallery to see 100 photos of the event.
